Statement of Purpose

The Purpose of this Chapter is to create an environment in which Marriage, Family and Child Therapists, interns, students and allied professionals can grow both personally and professionally. This purpose shall be accomplished through opportunities for networking and education available through regular chapter meetings, committee participation, special interest group formation, and special events. The chapter shall also provide the opportunity to obtain information regarding the ethical, therapeutic, and political issues through meetings and newsletters.

Our goals include, but are not limited to: providing a nourishing environment for social interaction, bonding and networking for LACAMFT members; providing informational and educational programs to the general public on issues relating to mental health and marriage and family therapy; and developing a strong leadership position with respect to marriage and family therapy in the Los Angeles area.
